Top 3 Florida Getaways on a Budget

Florida-beach Enjoy the Sunshine State for less at these three affordable Florida locales:

Panama City
Visit during the rainy period between May and December for the best hotel rates at this historic coastal city. Local Latin fare is authentic and can be very wallet-friendly, and there are plenty of mid-priced hotels and budget-friendly bed and breakfast inns. Expect to take taxis around the city, but don’t worry—they’re reasonably priced.

Fort Lauderdale
This beachside city is known for affluence, but you can enjoy it on a shoestring. Take advantage of $15 day passes for unlimited rides on the Fort Lauderdale water taxi. Scout around for deals like drink specials and free meals for kids. For a small fee, visit Hugh Taylor Birch State Park for a picnic, hike, or just an up-close look at the area’s wildlife.

Orlando
This family favorite is packed during the summer and holidays, so book your trip for when school’s in. If you’re hitting a theme park, consider staying on-site so you won’t need to rent a car or pay heavy tolls on the road. Try a GO Orlando Card for discounted admission to popular tourist attractions.
